• Texting– the action or practice of sending text messages on a Smart Phone. A majority of Lions have this technology. This is a good way to quickly check on your members.
  • Twitter – make a posting on the social media application Twitter. It is a way to share events your Lions are doing
  • Facebook – Facebook is a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues. The site, which is available in 37 different languages.
  • Snapchat – Snapchat is a mobile app and service for sharing photos, videos, and messages with other people. Once you view a message received via Snapchat, it is automatically deleted. This makes the service ideal for sharing quick updates with friends without accumulating media or messages on your mobile device.
  • Email – short for “electronic mail,” is one of the most widely used features of the Internet, along with the web. It allows you to send and receive messages to and from anyone with an email address, anywhere in the world.

Google Hangouts
Hangouts Meet is Google’s application for video meetings. You can connect your club, district, MD, from anywhere with easy-to-join video calls. Hangouts Meet is included with Google’s G Suite and is free for nonprofits

SKYPE
Skype is a telecommunications application that specializes in providing video chat and voice calls between computers, tablets, mobile devices, the Xbox One console, and smartwatches over the Internet. Skype also provides instant messaging services. Users may transmit text, video, audio and images. This is a one on one.

Facebook Messenger
Facebook Messenger is an American messaging app and platform developed by Facebook, Inc. Originally developed as Facebook Chat in 2008, the company revamped its messaging service in 2010. Users can send messages and exchange photos, videos, stickers, audio, and files, as well as react to other users’ messages and interact with bots. The service also supports voice and video calling. The standalone apps support using multiple accounts, conversations with optional end-to-end encryption, and playing games. www.messenger.com

Doodle Poll
Doodle is the simplest way to schedule meetings with clients, colleagues, … Anyone invited to take a Doodle poll can respond no matter what calendar they use. Great idea to plan when you should meet.

Video Meeting Etiquette:

  1. Don’t take an important video call on your mobile device, especially if you are walking or driving.
  2. Don’t get distracted i.e.: TV should be off, Don’t Doodle, Dogs Barking, Kids Screaming, Eating,
  3. Be sure to tell everyone in your household that you will be on a video, so no one walks behind you in a compromising way.
  4. Don’t sit in the dark.  Be sure you have good lighting on and not too bright.  Close shades behind you.  Check to make sure you light is not shinning towards your camera.
  5. Don’t place the camera too close or at an odd angle.  Make sure we can see you.  Don’t be a Wilson.
  6. Pre-test your audio and visual before you begin.  Double check your internet for the best connection.
  7. Do not text or play on your phone (Unless you are using it for Video Chat purpose). Make sure your phone is on mute.
  8. Do not use any funny or obscene jesters.
  9. Turn video off if you plan to step away.
  10. Whatever you do….DO NOT take your conference call into the bathroom with you without turning your video AND microphone off!
